Hey y'all,
Sorry I have been such a slacker for the past few weeks. Work has been nuts and with the end of the year coming sooner than I would like that means it will only get worse before it gets better! But on a lighter note I did get a chance to order some goodies online and found the time to practice with my new camera. Now don't go judging me on these pictures I've taken of these fancy products. Please keep in mind I've only picked the camera up a handful of times and still don't know a darn thing about it. You understand! Hobbies are fun but they require time and I haven't had the slightest bit of extra time laying around. Hopefully during the holidays I will have a chance to play around with the aperture some more and let you guys know what I have learned. Anywho lets get around to the good stuff!
Let me just answer my own question with a big ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am not sure if I received a dud or the runt of the litter but let me just tell you how incredibly disappointed I am with this product! I have fairly dark browns at the moment because I haven't lightened them recently so the color was fine, but the consistency is what I was the most annoyed with. I put on primer and foundation, let it soak in really good, then proceeded to start with the Brow Wiz pencil. (If you have never seen the pencil in person its the kind that rolls up and you do not have to sharpen it which I do not like because I don't feel I can control how sharp it is and I like my lines REAL crisp). So first I draw, in short strokes, feather like lines at the base of my brow and I couldn't even get the product to show up! Nothing was coming off of the pencil, so i tried again and still nothing. I tried to swatch it on the back of my hand and I had to press real hard to get any product to show up. It was almost like the thing was dried up! Needless to say I was irritated that I had just spent money on this junk and threw it at my vanity. In my opinion i wouldn't even worry about going to buy another one but I will most definitely be returning it. If you want to try it for yourself or have tried it ill leave the link below and y'all can tell me what y'all think about the situation because Im a little let down and by a little i mean my dreams are crushed.
Anastasia BROW WIZ in Ash Blonde
Moving on to one of my favorite items I've purchased recently, Twig by MAC. Again, please disregard my bright photo! Y'all the sun was BEAMING and I learned its best not to take photos in this light, especially when photographing makeup products because its very hard to get the true color. I heard such amazing things about Twig previous to purchasing it and I had never seen it in person when I ordered it online, but let me tell you it was a surprise for sure when I opened it. I thought it was going to be more of a mauve/nude type color but it is most definitely not. When i put it on for the first time it took a few hours for me to get used to it but it ends up being a more plum tone on me for some reason. I have a photo on instagram that you guys can see the true color. Here in the picture it even looks pink but its very very rich and maybe its just plum looking on me. Regardless I love it. The formula is a little drying so you may want to get a gloss but I continued to wear it alone because I loved the color and didn't want it to be shiny.

I remember having this product in high school, probably one of the first things I ever bought from a high end makeup line. Lord knows what happened to it but I do remember most of it being gone, so it must have been good. I rediscovered this while watching one of Carli Bybel's videos on Youtube and she swore by it so clearly I had to buy it, again. I got the second lightest shade and wish I had gotten the lightest. It is a creamy texture and glides on but i can say that its not as thick as i would like it to be. I need to work with it more but it comes with the corrector and then the actual "concealer". I do like it but I'm not completely in love. I haven't replaced my MAC prolong wear with it if that says anything. Great for someone who doesn't want too much coverage but i really enjoy a FULL coverage concealer, i.e i don't want to have to "build" my products. If i have bags under my eyes i want those babies gone asap after one application of the product. The corrector is very yellow toned and the concealer is more of a pink/salmon color. I would give it a 6 out of 10 for now. Ill keep you posted if I have a change of heart. For $32.00 i figured it would work better than it did.
Laura Mercier-Secret Camouflage
Holy Grail. Angels Descend. Let me just tell you I cannot live without this brush head. I purchased my Clarisonic on Amazon after one of my ex-BFFs swore to me it changed her life. Surely enough it did. But it came with the sensitive skin brush head and mine got filthy so I ordered a new one and decided to give the deep pore brush head a try. The first two weeks were atrocious. The worst break out of my life!!! I wanted to cry every single day. But i blamed it on PMS, threw on 12 lbs of concealer and called it a day. Low and behold i wake up two weeks later and my skin is as smooth as a toddlers bottom. I swear it drew out 24 years of debris and clogged pores, brought it all to the surface and said get the hell out. I did use my retinA cream with it so not only was I breaking out my face was peeling off like one of those Walking Dead creatures. Hideous. Regardless I wouldn't take it back for anything. I wake up to silky smooth skin and look 16 so I'm perfectly fine with 2 weeks of complete torture. At least now we can all thank the ex-BFF for letting us in on her little secret.
